Andy Sachs, a recent college graduate and small-town native, moved to New York City where she got a job as an assistant to Miranda Priestly, famous editor of the fashion magazine ‘Runaway. An enviable position except that her new boss is a controlling woman who makes her life impossible by harassing her with phone calls even in the middle of the night. Naive Andy suddenly finds herself catapulted into a universe unfamiliar to her, one of designer clothes, parties filled with VIPs and expensive gifts, and to make matters worse, Emily, Miranda’s first assistant, tries hard to take her down by making herself more and more like their boss. Thanks to the valuable advice of Nigel, the magazine’s editor, Andy’s life seems to be getting better day by day, but his old friends and his boyfriend do not seem to agree.
